Visit

The Museum is located on the second floor of the Academic Center in the Ellicott Complex, Amherst campus. A 45-foot totem pole is one of the most visible displays at the museum. It was carved commercially around 1904 by the Haida, Native Americans from the Northwest coast of North America. Additional displays are located in the “Totem Pole Room” and in the Anthropology Department main office, 380 Academic Center. To request access to the artifact collections, or for more information, please contact the museum staff or the Department at (716) 645-2414. The Totem Pole room is open to the public weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
